Molly Sellors is a Glasgow-based oboist, historical oboist, director and producer whose work crosses genres, art forms and performance spaces. Equally at home performing at Boomtown or Lincoln Center, she combines her classical performance career with a growing reputation for inventive collaborations and bringing music into unexpected settings. Molly performs with Paraorchestra, including appearances at the BBC Proms, and is a member of the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment’s Ann and Peter Law Experience Scheme (2026–27). Her humorous rave covers on oboes and early instruments have reached millions of viewers and attracted over 30,000 followers. Her videos have been shared by The Chemical Brothers, Pendulum, DJ Zinc and Patrick Prins, with six-time Grammy winners The Chemical Brothers also among her followers. She created the sold-out 7AM Oboe Rave at the Edinburgh Fringe, described by The Telegraph as one of the “weirdest shows” at the Fringe, while its crumhorn conga featured on BBC Radio 4’s Front Row. As Director of Hoolan Ensemble, Molly commissions new work and develops collaborations across art forms, with projects ranging from performances in IKEA to the film Foreign Body, for which she was Executive Producer, double-nominated for Best UK Short at the 2025 Raindance Film Festival. She is also co-founder and Artistic Director of The Ordinary Orchestra, a disabled and neurodivergent-led period-instrument orchestra launching in 2027, which won first prize in the Performing & Production Arts Challenge at the 2026 Converge Awards. Across her work, Molly is committed to widening access and questioning what classical music can be, who it is for and where it belongs.
